Competitive Audits
Based on the auditory study conducted, two mentorship apps were evaluated, namely MentorCruise and The Muse.
MentorCruise was noted to have a clear design that is easy to navigate. The app offered the same tools as desired by the users and performed well with fluent and fast web design. However, the app was noted to have too much information, which may overwhelm some users. Additionally, clients may not necessarily be interested in connecting with others who have similar problems.
On the other hand, The Muse was noted to have nice branding and was easy to navigate with a well-structured layout. However, some pages on the app appeared outdated and the design principles were not updated in 2023. Furthermore, the branding did not work well with accessibility as the color contrast was not optimal for reading.
Overall, the auditory study revealed that both apps have their strengths and weaknesses, and improvements could be made in terms of design and user experience.

The purpose of this usability study was to evaluate the user experience of multi-platform professional mentoring services designed to assist recent university graduates in finding jobs with the help of real mentors. The study aimed to assess two key performance indicators: firstly, to determine whether the service was difficult to use and secondly, to determine whether users could complete core tasks within contacting and talking with the perfect mentor.
The study participants consisted of two males and two females between the ages of 18 and 40. The participants were recent graduates who were actively seeking employment, as well as individuals who were in the process of job searching.
To begin the study, participants were provided with access to the multi-platform professional mentoring services. They were then asked to complete a series of tasks, which included creating a profile, searching for potential mentors, scheduling a mentoring session, and providing feedback on the overall experience.
